TIMELINE – ASTHMA Fellowships/Prizes
THE PICCHI BROTHERS FOUNDATION FOR EXCELLENCE IN RESPIRATORY RESEARCH
The Picchi Asthma Prize
The Picchi Brothers Foundation is chartered to support the activities of Asthma Research but limited to Victorian research only. As the Asthma collective is an all-Australian Association, it has become a challenge to seperate the great work of interstate researchers into asthma.
Whereas Cancer is fronted in Melbourne itself with a strong research base through the VCCC, asthma study does not have a similar base. Our endeavours to assign Prizes and support for asthma research have been slow, but finally we are getting traction for disseminating funds to worthy researchers and studies.
These prizes are determined by Professors from participating research facilities who have a close eye on the developing areas.
